Synopsis:
At 4:00 a.m. today, the center of Tropical Storm "KATRING" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 690 kms east of Extreme Northern Luzon (18.7°N 129.5°E) with maximum winds of 100 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 130 kph. It is forecast to move north northwest at 11 kph.
Forecast:
Eastern and Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the North to Northwest will prevail over Northern and Eastern Luzon and the coastals waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Light to moderate winds coming from the North to Northwest over the rest of Luzon and coming from the Southeast to Southwest over the rest of the country with slight to moderate seas.
